Ale ale ale!

We have started doing in-house art classes for the Acid House artists because I thought they needed to brush up on their illustration, composition etc... On our 2nd exercise yesterday, one of the topics discussed was cross-hatching, and after talking about it, I thought I might as well do a piece myself.

I remember learning about the techniques of cross-hatching from this pamphlet supplied when me and Chester were trying to figure out speedball inking, or inking with a quill, back in highschool. There was this sample of an old chapel drawing rendered in loose hatching, rough lines, but the whole picture came out beautiful. I like the rougher version of hatching, in contrast to the really clean lines usually done by Bolland or Dale Keown, which is nerve-racking.
